Little Bo Peep

I was just noticing an entire year has passed without a post on this blog. I guess it really belongs to an earlier chapter of life, but I do value being able to look back at what I have tried and created. Some of it I would never have remembered otherwise. I still craft frequently and experiment occasionally, but I don't document it. I'm too busy documenting my children's lives for their faraway grandparents!

A couple years ago I made this dress for the daughter of a good friend in Chicago, and she sent it back to me once her daughter outgrew it. Liefde still fits in it.

The bonnet I just made yesterday, not intending to match it to the dress, but it just turned out that it uses the same fabric. I had to draft the pattern for her 4-year-old head from a infant pattern, so I grabbed the floral pillowcase remnant since didn't want to use any of my "good fabric" in case it was a bust.

I also brought out my trusty baby bonnet pattern recently to made a few bonnets to contribute to a family member's adoption fundraising auction. I love making these, though they take a lot longer than it seems they should.
