While biking through the "North of Howard shortcut," I passed an overgrown bit of ground rife with pretty plants...and beer cans. Having recently seen this idea in Martha Stewart's "Good Things" book, I picked several grasses, weeds, and flowers which look quite nice when displayed singly. I tried to match the water to the plant with food coloring, but my dye choices were limited. There is a lot of beauty to be had even in ugly places like overgrown lots--if you're keeping your eyes open.
