Recovery

This past Friday, I found an antique chair at a thrift store for $8. It had exceedingly ugly, dirty, hot-pepper print cotton fabric on the seat.  I decided to experiment with re-covering. Upon getting home, I was excited enough to begin that I went to find the screwdriver before I even took my coat off! So excited I didn't take a "before" picture.

 

 Re-covering furniture cannot always be this simple, but this time it was a cinch.

1. Turn chair upside down and unscrew the seat.
2. Use hammer to pry out little nails securing old, gross fabric. (Save nails).
3. Stretch duck fabric over the sea pad, and nail it down.
4. Screw seat back on!

I just had this quarter-yard of duck fabric laying around from a sale back in Chicago. I think it looks a little Dutch!  Now we are the proud owners of exactly 1 piece of attractive furniture.
