Hula Weaving

It's Christmas break, which means free time for crafts! This week I made a rag rug on a hula hoop "loom." It's really supposed to be a craft project for grade-schoolers, which means it is fun, easy, and quick.

I cut strips across an old green t-shirt. I looped them around the hoop, and started weaving with a big bag of fleece remnant strips I got at the Material Exchange Center for Crafts and Art. I didn't even tie the ends of the strips together.

There you have it. It's nice and squishy, like shag carpet.. The hula hoop isn't the best loom--it gets progressively looser as you move outwards. Weaving is enjoyable in a hypnotic sort of way, though.  Just what I need right now, I little brainless productivity.
