I hate paying full price for baby stuff anything so when no thrift store luck had favored me a few days before our trip to Cape Cod, I sewed L. a sun hat from a Flap Happy pattern I got for 50 cents. The stitching is pretty sloppy but that hat is oh-so-functional. She doesn't even mind wearing it! And I got to use up some fabric I got for free like 8 years ago.

Wow! It's lovely and looks fancy. I imagine hats are hard to do well.
