Some good friends had a baby this week. I wanted to make them a bonnet, but unable to find my pattern, I decided to try out baby shoes instead, since that pattern was readily available. I used Simplicity 2278.
They fasten with Velcro, the buttons are just for show. These things seriously probably took me 3-4 hours to make since I did them wrong, inside out, off-angled and had to rip-out and redo several times. Precision has never been my strong suit, but is important in a project this tiny. (Note, is there something easier to trace patterns onto fabric with than chalk?--that takes forever!)
Who knows if they will actually fit the foot of a live baby, but they are kind of cute and hopefully they can just appreciate the sentiment.
